Emmanuel Eboa Lotin  was born in Douala, Cameroon on August 6 1942. The son of a preacher man called Reverend Adolf Lotin A Same, who himslef was a celebrated church chorals composer. It was, therefore no surprise that Eboa, though self-taught and without a formal education, would himself become a great composer of some of the best slow Makossa's in the history of Cameroon. He started writing songs at a very early age and recorded a first song in 1962. This maked the beginning of a rich music career spanning 35 years. This beloved Cameroonian died in 1997 following a long illness.
